Gateshead merged with Hull Sharks to become Hull FC. Sheffield Eagles merged with Huddersfield Giants to form the Huddersfield-Sheffield Giants. Bramley folded becoming Leeds Rhinos feeder academy squad. The Sheffield Eagles were reformed by Mark Aston and entered the NFP taking Bramley's vacated position.
