Doncaster Dragons were renamed
Doncaster Lakers in preparation for the move to the new Lakeside Stadium in
2007.
Blackpool Gladiators were renamed as the Blackpool
Panthers.
Catalan Dragons entered Super League,
and were exempt from relegation for three years. The lowest placed British side
were therefore relegated to National League One.
National League
One Grand Final winners qualified for promotion to Super League. Two teams were
again relegated from League One with League Two champions automatically
promoted. The following six teams participated in the League Two Playoff Series,
with the winners also promoted to League One.
Featherstone Lions and Dewsbury
Celtic joined National League Three, with Sheffield Hillsborough Hawks, Essex
Eels and Coventry Bears withdrawing.
