Again, the lowest placed British side
were relegated from Super League. National League
One Grand Final winners qualified for promotion to Super League. Two teams were
again relegated from League One with League Two champions automatically
promoted. The following six teams participated in the League Two Playoff Series,
with the winners also promoted to League One.
The National League gained a new
sponsor - Cooperative - and a new points system. Three points were awarded for a
win, one for a draw, and a bonus point for losing by 12 points or less.
National League Three was
discontinued, reverting to being part of the Summer Conference structure.
