With Super League licensing
introduced from season 2008 and an increase to fourteen clubs, there was no
promotion and relegation between Super League and the National League. With both
Salford City reds and Celtic Crusaders winning licenses, National League One
numbers saw only one team (Dewsbury Rams) re3legated and three promoted
from League Two - Gateshead Thunder and Barrow Raiders automatically, Doncaster
joining them via the Grand Final.
National League awarded two points
rather than one for a draw.
