Greg will always be remembered as one of the very great Rugby League players that our great nation has ever produced. One man that can surely be regarded as a World Class Player. He lived his life in the same way he played the sport he loved as a true gentleman and a real competitor. Good night, God bless Greg, The standard of Rugby League in heaven has just improved massively, The angels will get to see a once again fully fit greg in his pomp, how we on earth wish we could have one more little glimpse. Condolences to Mikes family, The rugby league family will never forget him!
god needed a forward and called up the best RIP MIKE
He symbolised everything which is noble on the field of play, and in illness he showed the world the meaning of the word 'courage'. The world is a sadder place because he has left it, but a better place for his having been here. A much loved man. It was a privelege to have seen him play and in illness he was an inspiration to all. Thanks Mike.
A true legend of our beloved game and a example for all youngsters to follow Deepest condolences to his family and friends R.I.P Mike
My heart felt feelings go out to his nearest and dearest family and friends. I was totally lost for words and stunned at hearing the news. A rugby league legend and a great man. You will live forever in my memory running 80 yards like a steam train against the Australian team with Offiah screaming for the ball, but never needing him. Legend. RIP Mike.
Best Wishes, Mike was a true legend in every sense of the word and really did not deserve this. He has gone to a better place and the pain has gone. There will never be another Mike Greg he was a warrior who lead by example on and off the field and always had time to help anyone nothing was ever to much for him. Best wishes to Erica and the family for the future. Lets have a permanent memory of Greg such as a stand or a statue.
RIP - shame I never got to see you play.
Sadly missed, every game in a warrington shirt always a good game, gave his life and soul to the great british rugby league. RIP x

RIP Mike, You will never be forgotten.
I never knew Mike personally, yet it is the measure of the man that today I feel genuine saddness at his passing away. Being a Cas fan I could only admire Mike from a distance, watching him play against us or when he played for GB. However, I grew to admire and respect him in the way he conducted himself on and off the field as a player and then coach. That respect grew even more when I saw how he coped with the terrible illness over the last 4 years. His passing away today leaves a big void in the game. A true Gentleman and great character he will be sadly missed. My sincere condolences to Erica, Ben, Sam and the rest of his family and friends at this sad time.
RIP Mike. I'm sure fans of all clubs are united in missing one of modern day RL's great legends and inspirational figures. Such a tradjic waste. You were never forgotten and never will be. My deepest sympathy to the ones he left behind.
My words echo thousands of thoughts and entries elsewhere RIP Mike and all thoughts and prayers are with your young family at home who have lost an inspiration, strong and popular human being.

RIP MIKE WHAT A LEGEND YOU CAN NOW ENJOY A GAME IN HEAVEN PAIN FREE
a fantastic player who on his day made great players look ordinary. To his family i am sorry for your loss.
As a keen fan and player of the game, I know to be called "great" in such a physical and skilful game is an incredible accolade indeed. Everyone I have asked about Mike has heaped praise on his tremendous abilities as a player, his enormous character and wicked sense of humour. When I saw him at St. Pats last year, this character and courage was evident as he made the effort to thank all of those who had come along to pay tribute to him. Mike's abilities as a coach were exceptional inspiring such loyal support in fans and players alike. There probably isn't a Wigan fan in the world who would disagree with me. Wigan has not been the same since he left. The world of rugby is at a loss without him and he will be sorely missed by all. My condolences go out to all of his family at what must be a terribly difficult time at the end of an incredibly difficult few years.

Goodbye Mike, you were my first true hero in the Primrose and Blue..R.I.P.
I am really saddened by the death of Mike, he was a real gent who had time for everyone around him, he was the light the warriors needed and it was with saddness that it came to an abrupt end. Love to Erica, Sam and Ben, it must have been a hard fought few years, watching such a great man become so weak. You were fortunate to find such a great man and your children will grow up with the knowledge their dad was a real hero, both on and off the field. Good Night and Godbless!
It's hard to put into words the sense of loss the Rugby League world is feeling in this very sad time. Mine, along with probably the whole Rugby League "family's" thoughts are with Erica and the boys as well as Mike's family and friends at this very sad time. Thanks for the wonderful memories. R.I.P.

My thoughts to all those around Mike at this time of great loss. An amazing player and a huge loss to all those that knew him.
I was at the Sydney Football Stadium in 1988 captaining the touring Cambridge University Rugby League team that was introduced to the crowd out on the pitch before the 3rd Test kicked off. Mike Gregory's try stole the show and it still stands out as one of the greatest I have seen and the resultant celebrations in the crowd were the most joyous I have been involved in. He will be sadly missed - a warrior for GB and for Warrington and a gentleman. A wonderful example to us all on and off the pitch. RIP.
R.I.P Mike Thoughts to your family and friends Mike. Thanks for some great memories. Ged, Leeds

A sad day for the Gregory family our thoughts are with you. A Gentleman in everyway, sleep tight big fella, RIP
Really feel for Mikes family, he was truly a great bloke and a legend in our game, he always gave a full 100% in every game and was inspiring as a skipper , you can only lead by example and what a lead he gave his teams, he was enjoying a very successful coaching career when this cruel illness struck and who knows where he could have gone with that, his pedigree should have seen him coaching GB at some point, his family while suffering terribly at this time should be tremendously proud of him and the undoubted respect he has from his peers in the game should comfort them RIP Mike Gregory.
A sorry day, sincere condolences to Erica, Sam & Ben, a true ambassador of the greatest game, a gentleman, an inspiration & a true leader. Our game needs more players like 'Greg' a man that played the game hard but fair, 'hero' is such an over used title in many circles, but not in this case Sorely missed in all Rugby circles RIP Mike Gregory
hearing the news of mikes death has been a massive shock. we send our deepest condolences to his family and hope they know that his rugby league family are heart broken today
Was shocked and saddened to hear of this, i will never forget the legendary run that Mike took us on all the way to the Grand Final in 2003, and then the Cup in 2004, he would've been a top class coach if such a sad illness hadn't have occured. Thanks for the memories Mike, you're a true legend in your own right. RIP
True legend R.I.P.
Mike - I'm happy for you as you've gone to a better place, one with no more pain. You leave us with some wonderful memories. Though we mourn your passing, we also celebrate your life, even though it was far too short. To Sam, Ben and Erica - I hope it's some comfort to you that your Dad/husband was so well-liked and respected - a good guy all round. He brought happiness and inspiration to lots of people all around the world. Be proud.
Mike Gregory was a person whose only contact I had was to shake his hand and say a few words of congratulation after a victory over Australia. His achievements as a player, however, left a lasting impression on me. The respect he commands throughout the Rugby League world will stay with me forever. My respect and sincere condolences to his family at this very sad time.
A very sad day - the game has lost one of its greats. Remember the Sydney Football Stadium try against the old enemy. Condolences to Mike's family who have acted with such dignity.

A sad loss to "The Greatest Game" - Deepest sympathy to family and friends.... For anyone to die so young is sad. For someone with such talent and with a family, it's tragic. Hopefully his family will in the future take some comfort from knowing that Mike left an indelible mark in the memory of tens of thousands of people who will mourn his passing. This is a loss to RL, but also a massive loss to the world in general. Greg had the respect of players as they knew he would pull on shirt and run through a brick wall if he could. That is why he would of been the best GB coach for years. My thoughts are with his family at this time. I hope these words and all the others being written show how much everyone thought of Mike, and that they are able to provide some small degree of comfort. RIP Mike

As a Wigan fan Mike Gregory was player I respected and always knew he would give 100% in any game - one player who you knew would take the game to the opposition. A very sad loss to the game of Rugby League. A brilliant player and a great coach. R.I.P Mike Condolances to all the Gregory family
His loss to the sport of rugby league is but a footnote to the immense and profound loss to his wife and two young sons. But I hope they can take at least some comfort in the deep sense of loss felt by all who knew Mike Gregory only through the distinction he showed in his passion and talent for sport, and the dignity he retained when misfortune claimed his health, and ultimately his life. Cruelly cut off in his prime, Gregory was a man who commanded respect, in the toughest of sports. His sons can look back with an enormous sense of pride at the achievements of their father, and his wife will always keep the memories of a man who everyone will remember fondly as a true gentleman. A tremendously sad loss to all, but to those who knew and loved him, we hope our sharing of your grief, eases the pain in some small but meaningful way.
RIP Mike, True Warrior, True Fighter, True Legend.

A man who put everything in to all he didon the field of play. Very sad news A Rhino fan
I was on that tour in 1988 when he scored that try and it was something special to see the aussies beaten in their own back yard. Even though he never played for us (Wigan) you always knew you would be in for a hard game whenever he played against us. In his short spell as our coach he did everything that could be asked and it was a tragedy when he was struck down with this illness He played the game hard but fair and was a constant inspiration to his team whether it was Warrington or GB. Not only as his family lost a husband and father but Rugby League in general as lost a true legend, not many can be called that. He will be truly missed by all.
It was an honour to watch you - the primrose and blue jersey has never been filled by a more decent, gracious, talented and decent man. In a world lacking good people and true sporting heroes you were both and will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
Thanks for the memories you leave us with Mike. Your were a true warrior. You were inspirational to many young players around my time. Farewell mate.
A great player and manager. He will be sorely missed in the game he loved. My condolences and prayers go to the family.
Rest in Peace Mike - legend of Warrington, GB and a gentleman. It was pleasure to see you in the Primrose and Blue Shirt and of course leading your club and country with such distinction. Condolences to Erica, Sam and Ben. You fought your illness as hard as you played the greatest game. We will never forgot you and your memory will live on forever.
This has been a sad day for Rugby League. My thoughts and prayers are with Erica, Ben and Sam at this very sad and difficult time
R.I.P. Mike , you really were a rugby league legend and a rugby hero to many Warrington fans , had the honour to have watched many of your games for the Wire , always remember your position infront of the posts whenever the opposition were kicking a penalty. One of the Wires finest players , you will leave a lot of people with alot of happy memories of you.
Was lucky enough to see this legend of the game play. An inspiration to all, and a true gent to boot. My condolences go out to his family at this time.
I count myself lucky to have met Mike a few times (he worked with my sister at Swinton and Wigan). He was an inspirational leader, a tremendous athlete and a Wigan lad through and through. He will be sorely missed by the entire RL world. My sincerest condolences go to his family at this incredibly difficult time.
Greatly missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace Mike. Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

R.I.P.
Always a Warrior.
My condolences to all his family and friends and all who ever saw him and admired the way he played, particularly in england. He was a true workhorse and an inspirational leader. A definite great in British rugby league.
Not just a Wire legend, the game as whole has lost one of the greatest. RIP Mike .
So long Mike. A true legend and a true guy. You will never be forgotten at Warrington or anywhere mate. Thoughts are with friends & family. (A true waste).
Very sad day when I heard the news yesterday, even though I had never met him. The dignity and courage he showed in coping with his illness was an inspiration. Deepest sympathy to Mike's family and friends. God bless Mike.
a tragic loss to family and friends and to the game of rugby league. always played with pride and passion and was a pleasure to have seen him play.
I fondly remember Mike as a player for both GB and Warrington. In the Wigan/Warrington Challenge Cup final I recall he whole hearted display and his emotional lap of honour afterwards, we Wigan supporters cheered him off the pitch! Perhaps most of all I shall remember his charity event at St. Pats. I'm not from Wigan and don't know any players personally but the love and respect everyone taking part clearly had for Mike was something I shall never forget. Very sad to hear this news. Mike played with courage and endured this illness in the same way. His family have my admiration for the way they worked so tirelessly to combat this affliction and, of course, they have my sympathy. I was unfortunate in not seeing him play for my team (Warrington), but I know that all who did felt honoured to have done so. He is a great loss to our Rugby League family.

Mike, you will be sorely missed, a great loss to everyone. We have so many memories of you. Our thoughts go to Erica, Ben & Sam. Good night, God Bless
Unfortunately I didn't actively follow the game when Greg was at his prime. But still remember him been a tremendous competitor whenever he turned out against Cas. Like a lot of people my main playing memory him, will be the try he scored that day at the SFS. The effort he showed to score that try was phenominal, but I think even that pails into insignificance, compared to how he motivated a team battered, bruised and under strength GB players to turn over the aussies in their own backyard. Later in his career he was turning into a bright, young, british coach. Sadly we will never know if would fulfill this potential. It also has to be noted, the courage, strength and humility he showed through his illness. A Great Man A Great Leader A Great Loss RIP
A true professional, A great character and ambassador for the game. A sad day indeed for the Rugby League family to lose someone so young. Who can forget Sydney 1998 and that try. RIP Mike

Deepest sympathy to Mike's wife and family, I remember sharing some banter with Mike when he was leaving the pitch injured at the Boulevard during an A team fixture.A true gentleman who, throughout, conducted himself with the kind of dignity and humility that is beyond most of our pampered sportstars.Truly the Man Of Steel
Lucky enough to have seen you play had me jumping around my front room as a kid with that try in Oz. Just unfortunate you didnt get chance to make Wigan great again. Thanks for the Memories you will be sadly missed. Condolances to his family. RIP League Legend

It's sad news, the passing of a gentleman and sportsman of high quality. Our condolences to his family and friends.
RIP Mike. Legends and heroes don't come along often and he was one without a doubt. A model professional and true gentleman. One of the outstanding loose forwards to play the game in the last 25 years. Our thoughts are with your close family and friends.
God Bless you Greg, thanks for the memories.
Great Player, Great Man, you deserved a 2nd half filled with Great Times. RIP Greg
Sadly Mike Gregory lost his battle on Sunday with the crippling disease that struck him down at such a tender age If reports are correct, the fact that it could have been caused by an insect bite suffered whilst on an Australian tour with the GB team make it a doubly cruel blow for such a well respected and talented player I am sure those who saw him play know full well that he always led by example and he was an extremely tough opponent - fully dedicated to the our great game and sport in general. Deepest condolences to his wife, his young sons, and all his family and close friends on their sad loss.
Sleep well Mike, you will always be remembered as one of the greats, both as a player and a friend to many. Our prayers and thoughts to Erica and your boys.God Bless.
A Great player, great man and will be sadly missed by all in Rugby league, condolences to his family
One tough man till the end, deepest sympathies to all the family. God Bless.
Mike, an inspiration on the field and off it. A great character who's ideals we should all aspire to - 100% effort, commitment and, above all, courage in the face of adversity. It feels like we've all lost a friend. Your family, though heartbroken, should all be so proud of your remarkable struggle. Your suffering is over Mike. Somewhere in heaven, a hulking blonde warrior has regained his swagger.
R.I.P. Mike,top player and a top man!
When I heard the news spoke to my dad we both remember mikes 88 try when scoring against the ausseis was a miracle never mind winning. a true giant amongst rugby players & Men
Rest in Peace, Mike, you are now free from all the pain. You have been a credit to rugby league, in every sense of the matter. God Bless Erica, Ben and Sam, thinking about you all at this very sad time. My deepest sympathy to all friends and family. Such a tragic loss to the world of rugby league.
I first met Mike as coach to Wigan schoolboys, when Steve McLeod, his coach at St.John Fisher, sent him down saying"This lad has a big Heart"--I will never forget that comment, because at first he demonstrated extraordinary stamina, as if he did indeed have an outsize pump. Of course he has demonstrated the other meanings of "heart" -courage, kindness,care-not least in his fight in the last few years, supported by an indefatigable, able, and loving wife, his family and friends.A great hearted warrior on the field, he was a warm, kind and fun guy off it. He showed us how to live, how to fight fate, how to die with dignity. There's a great spirit gone, but he will remain an inspiring example to us all.
Mike you are at piece now and the pain as gone ,our thoughts and prayers are with your family ,you was a"True Legend"
RIP Mike, you were and still are a legend. A boyhood hero, a true professional and an honest gentleman. Goodnight, god bless.
A fantastic player a true embassador for the game and towards the end a real trooper. Condolences to his wife and his beautiful children I was young when I lost my dad I hope his memory lives with them forever!!!
Certainly one of Warrington's all-time greats. A cruel way for any athlete to pass away, but when they're 'one of your own' whom you've seen in their pomp.... A truly great captain for 'Wire'. Heartbreaking to see him in a wheelchair.....and to leave us at such a young age just isn't fair. A champion representative for the game, well-liked and respected by all: such a terrible loss. Sincere condolences to his wife and children.
God night God Bless Mike, It was a pleasure having known such a gentlemen and great Rugby Player. Our thoughts are with Erica, Ben and Sam. Rest in Peace.
Mike had pride, passion, determination and a huge amount of talent. He was everything a sportsman should be and this was proved by becoming captain of his country in the toughest and greatest game of all. It is so sad that he has been taken from us but he made a huge impact in his short life and leaves us with only good memories.
my deepest condolences to his family, he was a true professional and a role model for so many, he will be sorely missed in both terms of a great rugby player but a great man. sorry for your loss.

RIP Mike A true legend
RIP MIKE A TRUE LEGEND AND A GREAT MAN
RIP Mike. A great player and ambassador for Rugby League. Always tried his best. Chasing down Shaun Edwards at Wembely in 1990 and then when Shuan on one knee passed to another Wigan Player getting to him and almost stopping him as well epitomised Mike Gregorys comittment and effort. Their were many other examples of this throughout his Rugby Career and Life. Sympathy to Mikes Wife, Children and Family.
A very sad day for the game of RL. My hero has passed away. The way he played and the way he fought his illness and certain people at Wigan RLFC are a credit to him and his family. He is a "true legend" i know it is a much over used term but in this case it is most fitting. My thoughts are with Erica and his two boys and the rest of his family God Bless you MIKE, you will be missed greatly. My memories of you will live on till the day my time is up. RIP
Very sad loss. RIP Mike
God bless mike, a real inspiration to all.
In a career and life littered with glory and great achievement, some highlights from my personal perspective as a Warrington fan during Mike Gregory's career. To remain with the Warrington club throughout the vast majority of his professional career. THAT try in Sydney in 1988. I will NEVER tire of watching it. His performance at Wembley in 1990 for a comfortably beaten team. Even my own relatives from Wigan conceded he was the stand-out player and should have collected the Lance Todd trophy. Mike - thank you. To his family - thank you and my complete and utter admiration for your dignity during these last few years.
May you rest in peace Mike, a true legend of the game and will be sadly missed. Condolences to his wife and 2 sons and to the rest of his family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
An inspiration and example to all. A role model to all sportsmen. A tragic loss to his family but someone who they can always be immensly proud of.
I watched all of Mike Gregorys career at warrington and it is no exageration to say that there will probably never be another player like him again. He was ten years ahead of his time in attitude and fitness - just think how good he would have been in the super league arena we enjoy now. I, and all my family, extend our deepest condolences to Mikes family and sincerely hope that in some way the massive outpouring of affection shown for this great man will help them at this difficult time. Your loss is felt by everyone connected with the great game. R.I.P. Mike Gregory
R.I.P Mike..it was a honour and a privlage to see you play..great player and a great person..a sad loss..
Only met Mike once when I was working at the Town Hall following the 1990 final. Mike made a point of going round to each individual member of staff and personally thanking them for the work they had done during the day. Special person and a very special rugby league player.
He gave us hours of pride watching him play for Warrington and his Internation duty was exemplary in every way. Sadly missed Mike.
It was both a pleasure and a privilege to see Mike play in the primrose & blue. Condolences to Erica and her boys. Farewell to a great captain, you'll be missed.
RIP Captain Marvel. You are an inspiration to us all. Your spirit, courage and leadership will always live on. God bless you.
Very tragic news, especially for someone so young. RIP Mike.

We always knew that Mike would run through brick walls if necessary, for any team that he represented. Thanks for the memories, Mike. Rest in Peace. May God bless your wife and two young sons.
Mike Gregory was a great, a player ahead of his time. Condolences to his family and friends.
Mike Gregory was an inspiration to all, he certainly showed people how to fight with dignity and pride, a great loss to Rugby League, although a sad time I am sure his family and friends will be immensely proud of Mike and everything he achieved in his life. Our thoughts and condolences go to his wife, children, family and friends. RIP Mike.
Firstly can I echo all the previous comments, Mike was a man who had that rare trait that even people who had never met him, respected him. I never met Mike, but I was privileged enough to attend the event at Wigan St Pats for him, that showed to me how universally well liked mike was, and how highly respected he was. To die at such a young age, with a young family is a tragic waste, however mike has touched so many lives both with his RL career and his courage in his fight against terrible illness that he will never be forgotten. The word legend is used a lot, but Mike was a legend, and will live on. Sleep well, best wishes to his family and friends
Mike was a true legend in every sense of the word He led by example he is a sad loss to our game Goodnight god bless Mike

My heart & thoughts go out to Mike's Family and Friends. He was a great player, manager and ambasador to the sport of rugby league. You will be sadly missed.
Fantastic Player, 100% Effort Every Game, He was the sort of player Rugby League was made for. As a Halifax Fan i always hoped he had a quite game against us, but i Honestly dont think he ever did! I Spent an hour yesterday talking to my Dad on the phone about Mike Gregory and he didnt even Play for the team we support. Says it all ! One of the best! R.I.P Mike.
I never Saw you play Mike but i saw you battle a disease with such courage and determination. I lost my mum 2 years agao to the same the same condition and it brings it all back to me which is very hard! Im not from Warrington but got into our great game 7 years ago and the Wire have been close in my heart ever since and have the game in my blood now and allways will. Great man and Great player! Very sad that he has been taken from his family and friends.
An absolute legend and a real British icon...may he rest in peace.
Even though I never saw you play, I know the great good you did for the game and also your immense potential as a coach which unfortunately was never recognised. You and your spirit will be sadly missed in rugby league. Jon Finney. St Helens RIP Mike. Felt genuinely upset on hearing the sad news. You were a true legend

Mike was a wonderful player, a lovely man and a character! He was always loyal to amateur RL club, Wigan St Patricks and that is something St Pats will never forget. He was an ordinary Wiganer and people loved that about him. Why does god always take the good ones? God bless you Mike, you were a star in life and a legend in death. All my sympathy and thoughts are with Mike’s family at this heartbreaking time.

I always admired your style of play Greg when i saw you on TV. What a powerful runner and a true leader by example you were. I remember listening to the Test Series on the radio at work in '88 and couldn't wait to see the footage of the marvellous try you scored against the Aussies. You were a real coup in becoming Swinton coach after your retirement and produced a side to be proud of. All the best mate from Queensland, OZ.
You will be sorely missed. RIP
Born a wigoner , always a wire..... Will never forget you walking out at Bradford in the quarters of the challenge cup 1990. Lifting the ball up and pointing to the wire fans.It sends shivers down my spine thinking about it now. God bless mike

rip mike 1 ow the greatest legions around
Your length of the field try in the 1988 3rd test will forever stay in my memory as it was truly inspiring. I got to you know you a little mainly as we shared a laugh and the craic over a beer in Pemps. I'm very happy to have had those experiences. I've watched you on the TV with sadness over the last few years as what was happening to you seemed so unfair. I hope now you are able to rest in a better place and proudly watch your little lads grow up from afar. RIP Greg and sincerest condolences to your family.
Such sad news that such a young man who gave so much and still had so much to give is taken away from us. Not only would I have liked to see him continue coaching Wigan, I would have liked to have seen him involved in the GB setup. He was one of the men who actually had things to say that were worth saying, and clearly a true gentleman. He will be missed. God bless you Mike, A true gent and legend of our great game. True legend and all round good guy.God Bless Mike, you will be missed it was a pleasure to see you both play and coach...only the good die young!!Everyone who saw what you went through can't failed to be inspired by your dignity and courage even at your lowest moments..God's now got his No13 sorted.
To Mikes family, i dont know you, but as a rugby fan i knew Mike...Try and gain some strength from all our messages, as a Saint i remeber his playing days, a 100 per cent player, and as a coaching assistant here he was well liked ..r i p Mike, you will now be leading a much better team.
Such a top bloke, lost forever but will never be forgotten. I cannot find the words that would comfort his family. Rest in peace.
I read of Mike's passing and feel so sorry for his family who have gone through some harrowing times. Mike is now free of his torment and has left all us RL followers with so many terrific memories of him both on and off the field. Mike was a man among men. As a player and a man he always had our respect. Through his fight against overwhelming odds in the last few years he has set an example to all of us when we are faced with adversity. Let's hope we can meet any adversity with as much dignity and strength of character that Mike has shown. RIP Mike.
i remember watching mike as a boy from the flatcher st at willderspool and wishing that one day i would be lineing up alongside him his grit and dedermination was such a great example to how the game should be played r i p mike and god blees
A very sad loss for the family and friends. Also an ambassador of RL for so many years. Respected by so many from being a player, a captain, a manager, a mighty fine bloke and a very decent human being. Rest in peace Mike. HuddsGiant we have miss the game have lost a le gennd
RIP Mike - a true gentleman and a legend in the modern game. If my lad learns how to play with the same enthusiam and desire as Mike, he will make me a very proud dad. This man is a true rugby league legend. Long may his memory be cherished by fans of the game, no matter what club they support. Deepest sympathy to Mikes friends and family. Please be assured that the pleasure brought to thousands by this gentleman will not be forgotten. A top bloke, player, skipper, and leader of men, good bye old boy, the memory will always live on, RIP
God Bless, I had the pleasure of watching Mike make his GB debut v France and on tv watching his iconic try v Australia-leaving wayne Pearce trailing in his wake. From everything I have read and heard Mike was a wonderful hunan being. His family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers . Ken Johnson
So sorry for your loss - he seemed like a great guy
I'm from St Helens, and Rugby League is in my blood. So very much respect Mike Gregory for the example he has given to all sports fans. I am very touched by this fantastic man unfortunately dying well before his time. My thoughts go out to his wife and family at this terrible time for them. But, at least, your "fella" was a legend, and his name will live on for the noblest of reasons.
Hi A great servant to the game of Rugby League. Mike was treated very badly by Wigan RLFC after He became Ill, and had to take them to a Tribunual for an unfair dismissal payment. I hope that his wife & both the children can move on to greater & better things but still remember what a great Husband & Father he was. My Best Wishes Go To You ALL John & Barbara XXX
