Test Matches - Australia - New Zealand - Australia and New Zealand 1932

Details from The Vault and Roland Davis "Great Britain Rugby League Tours"

Wigan's Jim Sullivan, making his third tour, was captain of a side containing some of the finest and fastest backs to represent the Lions. Leeds' Joe Thompson was also making his third tour and is still the only forward to play in three Ashes winning sides on tour.

The Ashes series was won 2-1, and all eight games were won in New Zealand, including three Tests.

The First Test in Sydney attracted over 70,000 people who saw Alf Ellaby score the fastest Test try on record almost straight from the kick off. Australia won the Second Test despite playing part of the game with 11 men, and the Lions won the Third 18-13 after being 9-0 down.

Jim Sullivan kicked 110 goals to become the first centurion on tour. Alf Ellaby was top try scorer with 21.
